Dear Friends, On behalf of the City of Elmhurst, I would like to congratulate the Elmhurst City Centre, the Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation (ECAF), committee members, artists and sponsors for the creation of this wonderful art show in our beautiful downtown. And, as Honorary Chairman of ECAF, I am additionally gratified to know that the beneficiaries of this effort are the children of our community who need extra assistance due to extraordinary medical needs. These Kiddie Cars will be on display in our downtown until September 13, when they will be auctioned off at City Centre's annual Uptown/Downtown Block Party. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to ECAF to continue their identification of special needs in our community, and then finding ways to help financially. As Mayor of this fair city, I invite you and your families to enjoy these original works of art and also the other wonderful attractions, businesses and amenities that Elmhurst has to offer! Sincerely, Mayor Tom Marcucci, Honorary Chairman Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation Peter DiCianni, President Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation About ECAF ECAF was founded in 1993 and has assisted many families and facilities that benefit local area children. ECAF has helped children with a variety of challenges like Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, Guillain Barre, Muscular Dystrophy, Downs Syndrome, Epilepsy, Traumas, Speech and Language Disorders, Maple Syrup Disease, Quadriplegics, Juvenile Diabetes, and many other life threatening and debilitating disorders. ECAF is run by a dedicated group of local volunteers and has no paid staff. Some of their recent giving includes: • Completed a 23,000 handicap accessibility improvement including handicap accessible ramp, automatic font doors, and fully automated chair lift for children and adults. • Granted Speech and Language therapy for a boy with autism. • Purchased a specially equipped custom made bicycle for a boy with Cerebral Palsy to be used for therapy. • Continue to help a young disabled boy whose mother was also diagnosed with cancer. • Purchased a voice aided computer for DuPage Easter Seals for any child to use. Approximately 50-60 families from Easter Seals use this facility not to mention the thousands of families throughout DuPage County. ECAF is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(C)3 organization. Contributions are tax deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. |
